Next Retreat 14 – 16th June 2024

At Ashley Court, Tiverton, Devon

With Gayl Long

“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.” Aadil Palkhivala

Yoga is more than a physical practice, it’s a whole way of being that helps people to flourish in life – physically, emotionally and mentally. On this weekend you will learn the core principles and philosophy of yoga, explore the links between the body, breath and mind that lead to wellbeing and practise the balance between effort and ease. It’s an opportunity to rest, refocus and re-balance, to establish or go deeper into and extend your practice.

What exactly is a retreat? Quiet time away from your normal life for the purpose of restoring balance in your mind and body which in turns enables your own personal self-discovery.

Go on re-treat yourself, you know you want to!

I asked participants on the 2021 retreat what was the most important thing they had gained from the retreat – here are their answers

“A sense of calmness and inner peace” – David Hickman

“Resilience and being in the moment” – Frances Hickman

“A wonderful weekend! A glimpse of how meditation can bring a sense of wonderful stillness” – Pete

“Overcome my anxiety and found a way to put it back in its box” – Becky King

“Peace, deeper understanding of some of the philosophies of yoga” –  Rhiannon Williams

“Perspective and deeper understanding of yoga” – Nicola Penfound

“Renewed energy and a better sense of balance” – Tania Stannard

“Sense of knowing (intuitively) where I am at peace…. Onward journey in a personal way” Frances Keeble

Pictures from my last retreat and words are adjectives the participants used to describe the experience.
